Entree: Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. This novel by a Nigerian-American author just won the 2013 Chicago Tribune Heartland Award. A view of America, England, and Nigeria, as seen through the eyes of Nigerian lovers.
Side: A Tale of Love and Darkness: A Memoir by Amos Oz. My book lists show that I have not read anything by any Israeli author, so here goes.
Side: Deadline by Sandra Brown. Time for a romantic thriller. Journalist looks into the possible murder of the missing son of two terrorists who've been on the FBI's Most-Wanted list for decades.
Side: Catechism of the Catholic Church, pub. 1995. I've never read this edition published after Vatican II. I'm looking for surprises.
Side: The Last Camellia by Sarah Jio. Sometimes all I want is a paperback that I can read on my long bus/el commute - what can I say?
Dessert: The America's Test Kitchen Quick Family Cookbook . I'm a big fan of their PBS show, so I picked up the latest cookbook they're putting out. Made a pretty good fennel and spinach risotto tonight. Still too much work, though.
